The Jetty may be the centrepiece of our swim, but the real magic happens in the pristine waters of Geographe Bay.
That’s why Busselton Jetty Swim is proud to announce we’ve joined forces with GeoCatch and Keep Australia Beautiful to protect the Bay and keep its waters clean, by fighting the war on waste.
The collaboration will see a ‘Conservation Zone’ established on the Busselton Foreshore during Jetty Swim event weekend, to shine a spotlight on local sustainability and conservation issues. A range of fun, family friendly activities have also been organised giving people the chance to win great prizes.
To compliment these efforts, Jetty Swim has requested that marquee vendors avoid the use of plastic plates and straws. Swimmers are also encouraged to BYO their own reusable water bottle with refill stations provided thanks to Busselton Water.
Additionally, Busselton Scouts will managing the Waste Warriors service. They will be collecting bottles and cans to raise funds via Containers for Change, and sorting rubbish to minimise landfill.
