Committee Member
Michael Adbo, a Wonnerup resident is a Sales Director for multinational Life Sciences Company based in Zurich and San Francisco and joined the Committee in 2021 to learn the ropes and help where needed.
Michael’s first Busselton Jetty Swim was with his brother and sisters as a team in 1998. The following year he participated in his first solo. The year after that he remembers very clearly as they swam around the burnt remains of the jetty. He hasn’t participated every year since (sadly work does sometime get in the way) but he has participated often enough that he has lost count.
Michael has derived a great deal of enjoyment from the Jetty Swim for many years and wanted to return the favour so to speak. He hopes that his contribution to the running of the Swim will benefit others who enjoy open water swimming and appreciate what a magnificent resource we have on our doorstep.
When he is not working or volunteering, Michael enjoys anything outdoors – swimming, running, riding, sailing, skiing and diving. Outside of this Michael has been building his own home for a few years and pre-COVID used to travel extensively for work and play usually to seek out the best coffee, which is without question his greatest vice.
