Swimming around Busselton’s iconic Jetty is now possible from anywhere in the world, thanks to the launch of the Busselton Jetty Swim Virtual Challenge.

We’re inviting participants from regional Western Australia and across the globe to complete a 3.6km swim—the distance around the Jetty—on their own terms.

Our new Busselton Jetty Swim Virtual Challenge has been developed to inspire more people to swim.  At its core, Busselton Jetty Swim has always been about everyday people challenging themselves, and our Virtual Challenge is just an extension of that

It means that if you missed out on a spot in the ballot, can’t travel to Busselton, or simply prefer swimming in a pool, you can still train for and complete a 3.6km swim.   Plus you complete the 3.6km swim in a single session or break it into smaller swims over four weeks.

You don’t need to be a seasoned swimmer – just register and start training. It’s a fantastic way to improve your physical and mental health, and if you join a swim group, you’ll also build valuable social connections. It’s a win-win!

Busselton Jetty Swim’s Virtual Challenge has been made possible thanks to the Department of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries through their Active Regional Communities Grant program. The funding support received will be used to increase physical activity, foster participation, connect people with swim groups, and make training accessible to individuals in regional areas across WA.

Registration for the virtual challenge is free and open until 21 January 2025. All swimmers will receive access to a free online training program and a digital finisher certificate. Alternatively participants can pay $30 to become a Virtual VIP and also receive a Busselton Jetty Swim swimming cap and finisher medal. Additionally, schools, business, and clubs can use the Busselton Jetty Swim Virtual Challenge as a fundraising opportunity. Virtual VIP Registrations close on 10 January 2025.
