The Brow

The Brow

Main Stage :

The Brow are a multi-award-winning party hip hop band with horns. Renowned for high energy live shows, The Brow have shared stages with some of the world's best hip hop acts (including Arrested Development, De La Soul and Public Enemy) with the latter’s renowned emcee Chuck D enjoying the bands show so much he put a couple of their tracks on rotation on his New York radio station.

Formerly known as Brow Horn Orchestra, The Brow have also played many of Australia and Asia's best festivals (including Southbound, Big Day Out, Future Music, Groovin’ the Moo, Peats Ridge, Pyramid Rock, Beerfest Asia, Queenscliff & St Kilda Fest to name but a few). Some of their awards include three WAMI's and four Perth Dance Music Awards (Best Live Act three years running / Best Hip Hop Act) and a whole lot of national radio love.

We've always been quite an eclectic band with – for lack of better phrase – a  'broad church' of music lovers.  Whilst we've always dabbled in a bunch of styles I think we were keen to focus more on the hip hop / electronic side of things over pop music, which can be a very unrewarding beast to tame.

The Brow's way of creating a unique sound is by combining elements from different styles and genres. Luckily this 'combining' process happens quite organically without much conscious effort.  This creates a sound that draws from various influences but is ultimately cohesive and, hopefuly, recognisably 'us'.
